Moscow Is Behind

Moscow Is Behind

Every second Sunday of October, not far from Moscow, they hold a military and historic event called “Moscow Is Behind Us 1941″ in memory of the defenders of the Borodino field during World War II. You are about to see how it looks like.

These are reconstructors – soldiers of the Red Army.
They are ready for the attack from the German side.
The Germans are coming from the west as it was expected.
The Germans use artillery and mortars to get ahead.
They have models of destroyed tanks here.
The second attack was much stronger.
The Red Army successfully counterattacks.
Machine-gun and cannon armored vehicles appear to help the Red Army.
Intensity of the fire was growing.
The Germans are almost beaten.
In some places they even started hand-to hand fighting.
The Red Army were attacking on all fronts.
The Germans could not withstand the attack.
The soldier is in the Estonian uniform. There were some Estonian units under the command of the Red Army.
The models of the tanks were specially made from metal.
The tendency is that each new recontruction looks more and more natural which is good, of course.
